Only for Discord providers. TradingView alerts need nothing in a browser: they are delivered from our servers directly to your bot, which checks for them every few seconds. Discord providers need the PropTradeBot Connector for Chrome (5.0 or later), which reads the channel you have open; see "How do I connect a Discord signal provider?" below. If you installed the old Chrome extension (Connector 4.x or earlier), remove it: it does not work with current versions of the app.
Check that PropTradeBot is running on your Mac, then look at its Status and Connection tabs. If it says your API key was rejected, generate a fresh key on your dashboard, then in PropTradeBot open Connection → Run setup again and paste it.
Currently PropTradeBot is macOS-only. Windows support is on our roadmap.

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and never store your broker credentials. All API keys are encrypted at rest. Your trading bot runs locally on your Mac and sends orders straight to your broker. TradingView alerts reach your Mac through proptradebot.com; Discord signals are read in your own Chrome.
TradingView alerts, in PropTradeBot's alert format: the app gives you the exact message to paste, with a Copy button. The chart must be the contract you trade. Anything else is refused, with the reason shown in the app; PropTradeBot never guesses.
Discord signals from any provider you follow (app 1.10 or later). You teach the app the provider's format by pasting one real message of each kind — an entry such as ES Long 7712, and an exit such as all out — and it trades only messages that match. A message it doesn't recognise, or that could be read two ways, is never traded. Telegram is not supported.
You need PropTradeBot 1.10 or later and Google Chrome on the same Mac.
An entry is refused when the market is more than 10 points (S&P) or 40 points (Nasdaq) from the provider's price, or when the app can't read a current price. That catches typos and late messages. PropTradeBot is not affiliated with any signal provider.
A TradingView plan that includes webhook alerts (check TradingView's plan comparison), with two-factor authentication turned on: TradingView only sends webhook alerts from accounts with 2-factor authentication. Your chart must be the contract you trade (MES1!, ES1!, MNQ1! or NQ1!). Get TradingView (Affiliate link: PropTradeBot earns a commission if you subscribe through it. It costs you nothing extra, and you can use any TradingView link you like.)
The bot stays connected and ready. If a signal arrives while the market is closed, the order will be rejected by your broker — no risk of unintended fills. The bot logs the rejection and continues monitoring.
Yes. PropTradeBot runs locally on your Mac and must be awake to receive signals and execute trades. We recommend disabling sleep mode during trading hours (System Settings → Battery → Prevent automatic sleeping). The bot will reconnect automatically when your Mac wakes up.
PropTradeBot trades Topstep directly (through the TopstepX / ProjectX API). See Topstep's automation rules below.
It can also trade any account you trade in NinjaTrader 8, prop or personal, through our add-on (setup guide). Many prop firms don't allow automated trading, so check your firm's rules first: that's your responsibility, and setup asks you to confirm it. Questions? support@proptradebot.com.
