How to send TradingView alerts to Topstep

Point a TradingView alert's webhook at PropTradeBot, and each alert becomes orders on your Topstep accounts. Every trade gets a stop, your trims and a runner, and it's flat by your end-of-day time. Your strategy decides when; PropTradeBot does the clicking.

Why bother

If your strategy lives in TradingView, the alert already knows when to get in. The weak link is you: seeing it, switching windows and placing the order, on every account, before the price moves. A webhook removes that step.

How it works

  1. Get your webhook. On proptradebot.com, open Dashboard → TradingView Strategy → Generate Webhook. It shows your Webhook URL, your passphrase and the alert message, each with a Copy button.
  2. Send a test first. Make a simple alert with the test message. It proves TradingView reaches us with the right URL and passphrase, and it is never sent to the app, so it can't place an order. Ask the dashboard's Setup Assistant whether it arrived.
  3. Set up the real alert on your strategy with the Webhook URL and the alert message. Delete the test alert.
  4. Keep the app open on your Mac while you trade.

Using an indicator instead of a strategy? The app's Alerts tab has one message each for buy, sell and exit.

Alerts travel TradingView → proptradebot.com → your Mac. An alert the app hasn't collected within 60 seconds is dropped, not traded late.

What it won't do

What you need

Keep your webhook private. The URL and passphrase together let anyone queue trades on your account. Don't post them or show them on screen. And check Topstep's automation rules before you go live; following them is your responsibility.
