How to automate NinjaTrader 8 from a Mac

NinjaTrader 8 runs on Windows, so PropTradeBot stays on your Mac and drives NT8 on a Windows PC or a Windows virtual machine through a small add-on called PTBBridge. Your TradingView alerts or Discord signals become NT8 orders with a stop, your trims and an end-of-day flatten.

Check your firm's rules first. Many prop firms don't allow automated trading. If you trade a prop account in NinjaTrader, confirming your firm allows it is your responsibility. Setup asks you to confirm it, and PropTradeBot doesn't check it for you.

How it works

  1. Find two addresses: the Windows PC's and your Mac's, on your home network.
  2. Create the add-on's settings file on the Windows PC: which accounts and instruments it may trade, and its own hard limits.
  3. Add one Windows Firewall rule so only your Mac can reach the add-on.
  4. Install the add-on in NinjaTrader and compile it. It starts with NinjaTrader from then on.
  5. Connect PropTradeBot with the add-on's address and token, pick your accounts, and set your flatten time.

About 15 minutes. The step-by-step guide has the exact commands.

What you need
